Hand appliqué cotton quilt by Karla Irby. All-cotton fabrics with cotton batting, size is 64" x 78."
From the artist: "I ran across the line somewhere, "Imagine what 7 billion humans could do if they all respected each other's differences." That phrase inspired the making of "Come Together." The improvisational and structured piecing represents the differences in the world. The plus signs and the zipper designs symbolize a coming together. So many layers, yet so similar, all making one piece of art. The quilt has phrases and small sayings quilted throughout. The design has many different things going on, including trees, raindrops, flowers, rainbows, birds and snails."
Quilt has a sleeve on back for hanging. Backing is pieced and shows off the quilting.
