After receiving an MFA from the University of California at Los Angeles, Maureen worked as a book illustrator.  She decided to make a transition to fine art in 1995.  She began attending classes at the Florence Academy of Art, and in a few years, began to teach.  She enjoys a studio within the academy where she still works as an instructor doing various workshops, and teaching drawing and painting during the scholastic year.  She enjoys working in several genre such as still life, portrait, narrative figure and landscapes.
